Tempo plot pun terhitung lambat, sesuai tone suasana hati sang protagonis yang kini mulai berpikir untuk hidup tenang. Bahkan chemistry McCall dengan Emma pun lebih terasa layaknya ayah dan putrinya ketimbang sesama (eks) agen. Bisa jadi ini bakal dibenci para penikmat seri sebelumnya, namun nuansa “penebusan dosa” sang protagonis yang kental memberi satu sentuhan yang berbeda. Tidak seperti kekuatan musiknya, aksi-aksi klimaks pun terasa kurang menggigit dan terasa lunak, kontras dengan dua seri sebelumnya yang dingin dan brutal.
Walau memilih pendekatan drama ketimbang aksi, The Equalizer 3 masih tetap memikat melalui pesona sang bintang. Suasana setting kota memberi nuansa eksotisme yang berbeda bagi serinya.
